You had me ROFL with your response to Pam about the coworker trying to shake her down for money for her supposed school. You are so right about these people in offices going around with their hands out all the time, and you hit the nail on the head about why people give to them. We live in a “gimme” culture. I’m the king of saying no. I don’t give a rat’s ass what people think of me! I even tell my little nieces and nephews no when they want me to buy their overpriced candles and chocolates to support their schools. I’ll buy my nieces and nephews something at the goddam dollar store if I want to do something for them.
